Cornell Women's Squash Team Faces Defeat Against Harvard
The Cornell women's squash team, ranked seventh, suffered a 9-0 defeat to top-ranked Harvard at the Murr Center Squash Courts. This loss brings Cornell's overall record to 5-3 and their Ivy League standing to 1-1. Harvard, now 4-0 and 2-0 in the Ivy League, showcased their dominance by winning all matches in straight games, except for a four-game contest at the No. 8 position where junior Saniya Jaggi faced Sarita Popat.
Despite the scoreline, several Cornell players demonstrated competitive spirit. Junior Xin Ying Yee narrowly lost to Caroline Fouts at No. 1, with close game scores of 11-8, 12-10, and 13-11. Freshman Vicky Lai also fought hard at No. 4, losing three games by a margin of just two points each.
